Food Security and the Just Transition
Event description
Join us over breakfast to dive into the topic of Food Security and the Just Transition.
At COP26 in 2021, Aotearoa signed up to the Declaration of Just Transition, acknowledging that we must respond to the climate crisis in a way that is fair to everyone. Ensuring that vulnerable and marginalised communities aren't left behind or left to bear the burden is essential to achieving our drive towards sustainable development.
This breakfast event will explore how Aotearoa can ensure food accessibility and security amid this transition. We'll be joined by speakers who are actively working alongside food-insecure communities. They will share their insights and experiences, shedding light on strategies to ensure that every individual has access to safe, nutritious and culturally appropriate food as we transition to a low-carbon future.
We'll be joined by panellists:
Tracey Pirini - Head of Operations & Relationships at Fair Food
James Ibell-Roberts - Strategy and Development Advisor at Human Rights Measurement Initiative
Danielle LeGallias - Founder and Head of Sunday Blessings & Legal Professional
