FOODTALKS Illawarra - Sharing is Caring!
Event description
Sharing is Caring!
Are you interested in local food, community connection and gardening in the Illawarra?
Come along to meet other growers, makers, producers, advocates, culture guides, picklers, bakers, retailers, chefs and home cooks who share a passion for delicious, fair food in our region.
For our fourth panel discussion we will be exploring the power of share economies in the Illawarra.
Hear from Jess Whittaker from Port Kembla Crop Swap , Alanna Linn from Make-Do Library of Things and others.
In a time when many of us feel overwhelmed by both the cost-of-living crisis and the inequity of many of the systems within which we live, these community-based social innovations are a salve for the soul. They connect people, foster creativity, save money, encourage sustainable resource use and facilitate the sharing of skills and knowledge. The event will be interactive, with opportunities to contribute to the conversation, so bring your questions and your ideas!
This event is being hosted at Millers' Local Bakehouse shopfront in Bulli.
6-6:30pm: Arrive, help your self to soup.
6:30-7:30pm: Panel discussion, including questions.
7:30-8pm: Mingle and chat.
