For Earth Day - Technologies To Help Regenerate Mother Nature

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

The first Earth Day in 1970 was established in response to a series of major environmental disasters in the US and the incredibly successful release of Rachel Carson's environmental tome Silent Spring. Political and public concern over the state of rivers, oceans, air quality and acidic rains saw the birth of the modern environmental movement, and continues to this day as the largest secular day of protest in the world.

To recognise, respect and then contribute to this important day, Finding Nature will bring together leading Australian technology companies to help you understand the green shoots and rays of light that do deliver on the promise that humanity will address the climate crisis. Not in the usual panel style - we all know we need more support for early stage Australian technology companies, we need more more money invested in clean tech, we need regulation to be unbound to unleash what is now possible through technology.

The intent of this night is to play an active role in better understanding the specific challenges each of these technology businesses are addressing, how they are addressing them but then how you can play a role in supporting their continued growth and success. In this 'reverse pitch', you'll hear directly from four enterprising change makers and be asked to offer your own support to help expand their potential. Each and everyone of us turn up with our existing networks, assets and capabilities that could be just what one of these businesses need.

You're a webpage creator? You can help.

You work in a large multinational corporation with customer distribution channels? You can help.

You're a policy wonk in a government agency? You can help.

You're great on social media? You can help.

Progressing these technologies required needs all of our help, and not just the big and obvious things like R&D commercialisation opportunities, but also the small and often invisible things every business needs. Marketing, content design, distribution, operational support, on and on. This is the night where Finding Nature will help you go from an observer of the Australian climate, clean and nature tech sector to an active participant in driving towards a more just and sustainable future.

Three companies are locked in:

- Xylo Systems

Blue Green

- SIX - Sustainable Investment Exchange

Stay tuned for the last one.

The night will be catered by Gus_tronomy (all plant-based, please notify of dietaries when you buy a ticket), with the support and help of our wonderful beverage partners Ester Spirits, Grifter Brewing and P&V Wine Merchants. Your ticket prices covers your food & drinks.
