Newstead Young Writers Festival 2024 - Workshop & Mentor tickets

The inaugural Newstead Young Writers Festival will be held on Sunday 20 October 2024 at the Newstead Arts Hub precinct in Newstead. This is a festival where you can really exercise your imagination and get all those ideas you have 'Outta your Head' and down onto paper.

The festival is completely FREE ENTRY and will be a celebration of all things writing, drawing and story telling, with fantastic guests, talks, fun workshops, bookstalls and more.

This Humanitix website is purely for booking the 22 formal workshops and 6 mentoring sessions available on the day. These are presented by some of Australia's best selling and loved authors and illustrators including John Marsden, Lucinda Gifford, Chris Kennett, Katrina Nannestad, Adam Wallace, Trace Balla, Bridget Farmer, and Cate Kennedy not to mention a host of creatives born and bred, or now living in this creative region.  

Tickets for these workshops are strictly limited, and to avoid disappointment we ask that you book well in advance.

While the focus of the festival is to engage directly with young people of school age and encourage them to write, we want this to be a welcoming local festival for community, and the day will include events for all ages to enjoy, including public author panels all day at the main stage, book stalls, demonstrations, food stalls, and all day story time under our own Faraway Tree catering for families and their younger ones.
