For the Birds Story Slam

Join us at West Art (816 Buchanan Ave) for a bird-themed story slam! Have you had an encounter with a bird, are a birdwatcher, a bird conservationist or a bird enthusiast? Come share your story.

Not familiar with a story slam? It is a live storytelling competition where individuals tell true, personal stories, within a five-minute time limit, based on a specific theme. Storytellers are not allowed to read from notes and must perform their stories from memory. Participants will sign up at the slam and see if their name is selected. The competition part is meant to be fun and not taken too seriously. Fun prizes included!

This event is free and open to the public and is co-sponsored by F&M's  Center for Sustainable Environment and Writers House.
