For the First Time

Oh, the sweet, sweet FIRSTS…the hand hold that made it happen. The look that became the grin. The sentence said sincerely, starting it all off. And, well – the not so sweet ones. The crash. The burn. That first time you realised this all wasn’t going as planned. That first heartbreak. First death of a dear one. First houseshare (with the Housemates From Hell).

And the ‘stuff of life’ firsts – the first big concert, first born, first Big Adventure, first Big O, first time beating Cindy Forrester in third grade at quick-draw maths (SUCK IT, CINDY).

These are those stories – of the firsts that come, the firsts that go, and the words we weave to know they were.
