Forest Bathing - The Australian Botanic Garden
Originating from Japan, Shinrin-yoku (or Forest Bathing) is an established preventative public health practice, proven to enhance health & wellbeing by immersing in nature. Now widely practiced on a global scale, this wellness movement is backed by more than 30 years of scientific research on the physical and mental health benefits of time in nature.
This experience, led by INFTA-Accedited and Certified Forest Therapy Guides is designed to improve your mental and physical health by reducing stress levels, normalizing your pulse and blood pressure and strengthening your immune system - to name a few proven benefits!
Forest Therapy invites participants to take time out of their busy lives so they can slow down and connect with the calming and health-giving benefits of nature in the pristine The Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan. Our professionally trained Forest Therapy Guides will gently lead participants through a series of sensory experiences, mindfulness, quiet aware walking, contemplation and nature appreciation to help promote slowing down, nature connection and relaxation. The experience concludes with a Japanese-inspired tea ceremony.
Forest Therapy Walks are recommended for people 16 years and over.
