Event description

Join Lisa Murphy from Big Heart Adventures for a slow guided walk through beautiful Para Wirra Conservation Park. The walk will be based on the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, or forest bathing, and will include a series of 'invitations' to connect deeply with nature, and an intimate tea ceremony at the end.

Shinrin-yoku originated in Japan and grew in popularity in the 1980's, yet its roots go back centuries. The term loosely translates to ‘forest bath’, meaning to connect with nature and to soak in its beneficial atmosphere. It has recently gained popularity around the world for the multiple benefits it provides for physical and mental wellbeing. Research has shown that walking or sitting in nature will improve memory, reduce high blood pressure, strengthen your immune system and much more.

So take some time out with us to slow down and get to know what nature can do for you!

Light refreshments and tea are provided at the conclusion of our session (please let us know any dietary needs you may have).

MEETING PLACE

**Please note that we will meet at Gawler Environment Centre, at 8 Main North Rd Gawler, at 9.30am and travel by minibus to Para Wirra to arrive at 10am. Please let us know if you intend to use your own transport to get to Para Wirra.
