Forest Therapy - Blue Mountains Botanic Garden
Event description
Event description
Originating from Japan, Shinrin-yoku (or Forest Therapy) is a preventative health practice which improves health & wellbeing by immersing your senses in nature. This experience led by INFTA-Accedited and Certified Forest Therapy Guides is designed to increase your mental and physical health by reducing stress levels, normalizing your pulse and blood pressure and strengthening your immune system.
Forest Therapy invites participants to take time out of their busy lives so they can slow down and connect with the calming and health-giving benefits of nature in the pristine forest of the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden. Our professionally trained Forest Therapy Guides will gently lead participants through a series of sensory experiences, mindfulness, quiet aware walking and nature appreciation to help promote slowing down, nature connection and relaxation. The experience, presented by the Blue Mountains Botanic Gardens and In My Nature, the INFTA-Accredited Training Provider, concludes with a Japanese-inspired tea ceremony.
Forest Therapy Walks are recommended for people 13 years and over.
This event is endorsed, supervised and quality-controlled by the International Nature and Forest Therapy (INFTA), the world's peak body in promoting Forest Therapy as an evidence-based Public health practice.
