Formidable Vegetable:
After an 18-month sold-out national tour, Formidable Vegetable are back with some all new electronically-boosted eco-funk/swing soaked in positive climate action that the whole family can get down to. Their latest album 'Micro Biome' took out Best Album at the 2023 MMMA Awards (beating The Wiggles!) and having toured to over 20 countries, even racking up accolades from the UN, Formidable Vegetable are continuing their mission to inspire folks from 5 to 95 to grow their own food, restore their ecosystems and live a better life with irresistibly funky home-scale solutions to the many problems of the world. From the local farmers market to massive festivals such as Glastonbury, Formidable Vegetable are as at home on stage alongside the likes of Radiohead, Dolly Parton and The Rolling Stones (all with whom they've shared the stage) as they are in their own garden.
Mal Webb & Kylie Morrigan:
Vocal adventurer, multi-instrumentalist and looping beatboxing songwriter Mal sings his brain provoking songs using all sorts of vocal techniques, guitar, mbira, slide trumpet, trombone, chromatic harmonica and a loop recording pedal called Derek. And Kylie (who's played with Orchestra Victoria and the likes of Stevie Wonder and Barry White!) provides violin and voice in a perfect balance to Mal's nutsness. Their arrangements are intricate and playful. Imagine Einstein, Dr Seuss and Paganini making pancakes.
Back in the Illawarra for the first time since 2023, this show will be a family-friendly event at the Gong's premier musical food truck venue, The Servo in Port Kembla.
Tickets $25 (working adults) $15 (concession) and $5 (kids over 4).
Bring a chair/cushion/blanket or just bust out on the dancefloor. Food & beverages will be available.
