We are thrilled to announce that Camila Alves who is a very renowned Forró Dance Teacher in Europe and across the globe is coming from Lisbon to Australia for the first time in May.
It will be a unique opportunity for our community to keep learning and developing the Forró dance to another level through a creative style and dance techniques.
Camila Alves started her dance journey early, nurtured by her mother's guidance, leading her through various artistic expressions, festivals, and classes. A dance enthusiast since age 14, Camila explored Argentine Tango, Salsa, Kizomba, Semba, and Hip-Hop.
Captivated by Forró in 2010 when she was just 17, Camila embarked on a remarkable trajectory as a Forró teacher, teaching group classes, private classes and instructing at festivals globally since 2012 and imparting her expertise in 22 countries across 3 continents.
With a firm grasp of
technique and a commitment to egalitarian dance dynamics, Camila's teaching ethos fosters
expressive dance synchronized with music and partners.
Beyond teaching, her entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish Xiado da Xinela in 2019, an online shop offering vibrant dance attire and accessories for Forró lovers.
With a strong
presence on social media, she also offers consultancies for dance professionals
and Forró communities
that want to establish themselves in their city and in the digital world; as
well as intensive courses
for aspiring teachers and professionals looking to develop and improve their
skills.
Camila Alves is bringing different contents and perspectives for the Forró Dance Marathon that are not only limited to dance techniques, but also include connection, musicality, expression and playfulness in dance.
It means that ALL Workshops are open level, so any dancer even from different styles are welcome to join this unique Dance Marathon with an amazing international teacher.
