Fortified, Susie Losch
Description
Fortified is a site-specific installation responding to and activating the space within the former Virgils Antiques building, originally constructed as a furniture manufacturing warehouse in early colonial Gurambilbarra / Townsville. Working in collaboration and alongside artists, technicians and the local creative community experimentation with movement, light and sound may develop into an entirely new collaborative work, reinforcing the value of site-specific practice as a space for experimentation, exchange and artistic growth.

Special Live Performance event with local artist Naomi Jean - Monday 28th September 6.30pm - 7.30pm
About the artist
Susie Losch has been living in northeast Victoria, practicing, and exhibiting in solo exhibitions and group shows, community art projects and installations for 30 years. Her practice involves the construction of assemblages and installations from materials that have an intrinsic history.
Influenced by the concept of ‘PLAY” and the unknown, bodies of work emerge and are constantly evolving. They retain remnant memories, experiences and new observations from time spent travelling and connections between objects while undertaking a sorting process.
