Join Orah and Veracross for a FREE event on Friday, October 13th for a deep dive into the role of wellbeing in schools, with the renowned Dr Peggy Kern!

Drawing from her extensive research in the field of positive psychology, our keynote speaker Dr. Peggy Kern will discuss the vital, yet often overlooked, subject of educator wellbeing in an engaging discussion that moves beyond moves beyond treating mental health issues reactively, focusing instead on proactive approaches such as building internal strengths, nurturing resilience, and utilising evidence-based interventions.

About Dr Peggy Kern
Dr. Peggy Kern is an associate professor at the Centre for Wellbeing Science within the University of Melbourne's Graduate School of Education. She received a BA in Psychology from Arizona State University, a Masters and PhD in Social/Personality Psychology from the University of California, Riverside, and received additional postdoctoral training at the University of Pennsylvania.
Her research draws on multiple fields of inquiry, including health, positive, social, personality, and developmental psychology, and public health to address the question of thriving across the lifespan. She focuses largely on understanding, measuring, and supporting wellbeing across the lifespan, in particular working with schools and workplaces to examine strategies for supporting wellbeing, and bridging gaps between research and practice. With 3 published books, over 100 peer-reviewed articles and chapters, and many hours on stage sharing her work around the world, Dr. Kern will undoubtedly bring compassionate insight and guidance in this often-overlooked area of the educational system.
