Foundation Day Special Assembly
Event description
In October 1863, sixteen young men embarked on their educational journey as the first students at Ipswich Grammar School. Now, 162 years later, Foundation Day has become a valued tradition, offering current students and Old Boys a moment to reflect on the school's legacy.
To honour the occasion, Old Boys are invited to attend a special assembly featuring Guest Speaker Mr Stewart Drinkeld (Class of 1995), an IGS Old Boy, Director of Boarding and long-serving member of staff. The assembly will be followed by a morning tea in the Great Hall, a setting steeped in the history and traditions of Ipswich Grammar School.
Parking: No onsite parking. Please allow time for street parking.
During the morning tea, a brief Old Boys' Association AGM will be held. Nominations for a position on the OBA Committee will be voted on and confirmed. Nominations may be made via return email to our Community Development Manager, Mrs Carol Levinge at clevinge@ipswichgrammar.com prior to Friday 3 October.
