Brett Grimley, Principal Designer at Ecolibrium Designs, will provide an introduction to building performance and the key factors that influence comfort, energy efficiency and occupant wellbeing. Brett will unpack the practical strategies that can dramatically improve the performance of any home.

Building on these foundations, special guest Ben Sinclair from Base Haus will take a deeper dive into the Passivhaus (Passive House) standard, exploring its origins, the science behind it, and why it is increasingly being adopted around the world. Ben will discuss the benefits of the Passivhaus approach, how it can be successfully applied in Queensland's subtropical climate, and what homeowners, designers and builders can learn from this internationally recognised performance standard.
