This workshop is delivered across two face-to-face training days.

Friday 6 November 2026 • 9:00 am – 4:30 pm
Your registration includes attendance on both workshop days.
Registration: AUD $495 (includes both workshop days, a comprehensive participant workbook, tea, coffee and light refreshments during breaks, and a Certificate of Completion suitable for CPD records.)
The workshop is intentionally limited to a maximum of 24 participants to provide a highly interactive learning experience with opportunities for discussion, reflection and practical application.
Grief rarely follows a predictable path. Many practitioners encounter clients whose experiences of loss are complex, prolonged, ambiguous, or difficult to make sense of using traditional grief models.
This two-day professional development workshop equips counsellors and other professionals supporting people through grief and loss—including school wellbeing staff, psychologists, social workers, healthcare professionals, chaplains and pastoral carers—with contemporary grief frameworks, practical assessment tools and evidence-informed interventions that can be applied immediately in practice.
Rather than focusing solely on theory, the workshop integrates current grief research with practical counselling skills through case conceptualisation, discussion, guided reflection, and applied learning.
Participants will leave with greater confidence in supporting clients experiencing bereavement, significant life transitions, and complex grief presentations.
Designed specifically for practising counsellors and helping professionals, this workshop provides evidence-informed, clinically applicable professional development that can be translated directly into practice.

- 1. Who is this workshop suitable for?
This workshop is designed for counsellors, counselling students, recent graduates, psychologists, social workers, mental health practitioners, chaplains, pastoral carers, and other helping professionals supporting people experiencing grief, loss and life transitions.
- 2. Is prior grief training required?
No. Previous grief-specific training is not required. The workshop provides a practical introduction to contemporary grief counselling while also offering valuable insights for experienced practitioners wishing to update or deepen their practice.
- 3. Will I receive a certificate?
Yes. Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion suitable for recording Continuing or Ongoing Professional Development (CPD/OPD) hours.
- 4. Is catering provided?
Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be available during the morning and afternoon breaks.
Lunch is not included. Participants may purchase lunch from Little Things Café (World Vision Café), just a short 2–5 minute walk from the venue, or bring their own lunch.
A 45-minute lunch break will be provided each day.
- 5. What if I miss one of the workshop days?
This workshop is designed as a two-day learning experience, and participants are encouraged to attend both days to gain the full benefit of the program. As the learning builds across both days, recordings, make-up sessions and partial refunds are not available for missed sessions.
- 6. What if I can't attend and need to cancel my registration?
