Your Business Is Ready to Grow… So Why Does Funding Feel So Hard?

Founder Finance: Cashflow to Capital

Brought to you by Headwaters Capital, hosted by Greater Whitsunday Innovation.

What’s this session about?

Business capital.. What is that? Here is a quick breakdown..

It is the money and resources a business uses to run and grow. It includes not just cash, but also things like equipment, tools, and other assets that help the business operate.

Having enough capital helps a business stay flexible and confident in its decisions, whether that’s preparing for busy periods, investing in growth, or handling unexpected costs. Raising money for your business doesn’t have to mean maxing out loans or chasing financing options that involve selling part ownership of your business to an investment company.

This short, 1‑hour session breaks down how everyday Australian founders, Small and Medium Businesses can raise up to $2 million from private investors, without a prospectus, using real-world equity pathways that already exist. You’ll learn how Australia’s private capital rules work, why most businesses never hear about them, and how new platforms are making equity raising simpler, clearer and more accessible, especially for founders outside major capital cities.

The session includes a live walkthrough of a world‑first private capital platform, practical examples, and an open Q&A with one of Australia’s most experienced business equity specialists.

Attendees will:

Understand how Aussie businesses legally raise up to $2M without a prospectus
Learn the 20/12/2 rule and what it actually means in practice
See how private equity markets work behind the scenes
Watch a live demo of private capital tools and platforms
Get honest answers in an open founder‑friendly Q&A

Format: 60 minute Hybrid Workship I Online or In-person
Who should attend: Start‑ups, side hustlers, small and medium business (SME) owners, innovators, students, advisers and anyone curious about smarter ways to fund business growth.
