Four New Neighbours. One Housewarming!
Description
New spaces, new skills, new people to meet - right here in Morningside!
We've moved in, and we're throwing a housewarming to celebrate. Come join us :)
Hackland, Auckland Library of Tools, Regeneration Army and Carbon Cycle Compost have made the old Auckland Joinery building at 2 Taylors Road their new home. Between us, we've got workshops, machines, tools to borrow, composting and gardening know-how, and a whole lot of people who love sharing what they do.
But it's about more than just the tools and spaces - it's about the people.
Whether you've got something you'd like to make, fix or learn, want to get involved in something local, or just fancy meeting some new people, there's plenty to discover here. We're building communities that anyone can be part of, and we'd love you to come and see what's happening.
No experience needed, no pressure to join anything. Just come along, have a look around and meet your new neighbours!
What's happening?
4:30pm - Karakia & Official Opening
We'll kick things off with a karakia, our official opening and a quick introduction to each of the four organisations.
5pm - Demos, Tours & Workshops
Explore the spaces, see the machines in action, find out what everyone's working on and have a go yourself if you fancy.
6pm - Food, Drinks & Music
Grab a feed, have a beer, meet some new people, check out some projects, and enjoy a yarn!
Can't make it straight after work?
No worries! Come along from 6pm for food, drinks, a look around and a chance to meet everyone. You won't have missed the party!
Free entry - everyone welcome! Bring your friends, family, neighbours or just yourself.
Please RSVP so we know how much kai to make and how many beers to stock!
We can't wait to show you around :)
Getting here & Parking
We encourage you to walk, bike or take public transport if you can!
🚲 Cycling: We're close to the Northwestern Cycleway, which connects the city, Kingsland, Western Springs and West Auckland. You can access it via St Lukes Road and make your way to us through the local streets. Bring a bike lock!
🚆 Public transport: Morningside Train Station is a short walk away, with buses also running along New North Road.
🚗 Driving: Parking at the building is expected to be full. Free street parking may be available on Gordon Road, Taylors Road and surrounding streets. Please check parking signs and restrictions.
