    Event description

For International Women’s Day 2023, we’re showcasing the voices and talents of women and gender diverse people in Aotearoa New Zealand. Join us at Fourth-Wave, a festival which aims to celebrate intersectionality and empower women through kōrero and performance.

Fourth-Wave is named after the most recent feminist movement, characterised by intersectionality, internationalism, solidarity, and the use of technology and the Internet. The fourth wave of feminism seeks greater gender equality by focussing on gendered norms and the marginalisation of women in society.

Fourth-Wave will feature dance, comedy, poetry, music, plus a live recording of a panel for our Get Woke Wellington radio show and podcast (line up below). Finger food will be provided, and a cash bar will be available for the purchase of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

This is an event for everyone - we welcome people of all genders and ages. It is supported by partial funding from Te Korowai Whetū Social Cohesion community fund. Thank you in advance for being respectful, kind, and considerate to other attendees, and helping us make Fourth-Wave truly safe and fun for all.

The Wellington Branch of National Council of Women New Zealand is excited to present Fourth-Wave for the first time in 2023. Get your tickets before they sell out! We have a few gifted tickets available, thanks to our generous sponsors. If you'd like to attend Fourth-Wave on a sponsored ticket, please email us at ncwwlg@gmail.com.

Note the venue is fully accessible via lift as required.
