Framing your own pictures is a great way to protect your artwork, add personality to your home, or create personalized gifts. 

Over 3 sessions this woodworking hands on short course will walk participants through the framing process whilst constructing their own ready to hang frame containing their chosen (Nothing doo shaped or larger than A4 size) image. 

All framing materials will be provided including white Matt board and black frame molding.

This course covers the basic technical skills and key knowledge required for framing including:
  • Using professional framing tools
  • Measuring and cutting frame moldings
  • Wooden frame construction and clamping techniques
  • Measuring and cutting mat board
  • Mounting artwork for framing
  • Frame finishing and preparation for hanging
This framing workshop is suitable for beginners interested in creating a frame for a specific piece of artwork, as well as experienced woodworkers interested in expanding their skill set.
All sessions take place on-site at Makerspace Adelaide with small class sizes and direct instruction from an experienced framer, all materials are supplied by Makerspace Adelaide.

Places are limited and bookings are essential.

This session is best suited to adults; all participants must be 16+


Participants must have completed a woodworking induction

Participants are asked to bring in their own small artwork or photo print(Nothing doo shaped Or larger than A4 size) to frame, for a long lasting result please ensure that your image is printed/made using light-fast and acid-free materials.
