Duration: 60mins
Light refreshments provided
Join us for a luminous morning of piano music with Italian pianist Francesca Rinzullo as she explores the flowering of Romantic imagination in a beautifully curated recital.
A journey that spans Beethoven’s Sonata Op.109, a visionary work that marks the dawn of Romanticism, the lyrical brilliance of Mendelssohn’s Rondo Capriccioso and the dramatic intensity of Chopin’s First Ballade, before being swept into the shimmering colours of Debussy’s L’Isle Joyeuse — a radiant celebration of sound and sensation.
This program invites you to experience the piano’s full expressive power — from introspective beauty to dazzling virtuosity — in a concert that promises both rhapsody and radiance.
Programme:
F. Mendelssohn – Rondò Capriccioso, Op. 14
F. Chopin – Ballade No. 1, Op. 23
L. v. Beethoven – Sonata No. 30, Op. 109
C. Debussy – L’Isle Joyeuse
About Francesca
Francesca Rinzullo was born in Reggio Emilia in 2005 and is currently completing a Master of Music in Piano Performance at the Conservatorio di Musica “Vecchi-Tonelli” in Modena, under the guidance of Maestro Giuseppe Fausto Modugno.
She began performing at an early age, making her debut in an international piano competition at the age of nine and subsequently receiving numerous prizes in her category.
Francesca has taken part in masterclasses with many renowned concert pianists, including Elyane Laussade, Oleg Poliansky, Carlo Blazaretti, Peter Máté, Gloria Campaner, and Bruno Canino. She has pursued advanced studies at the Conservatorio “Vecchi-Tonelli” and has studied abroad at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Trossingen (Germany), where she also participated in a masterclass with Maestro Ingo Dannhorn at Haus Marteau in Lichtenberg. She later continued her studies at the Iceland University of the Arts in Reykjavík, where she performed at the Dynjandi Hall of the LHÍ Conservatory.
Her concert appearances in Italy include performances at the Auditorium San Rocco for the “Carpi in Musica 2022” series, at the Teatro Comunale di Carpi for Europe Day celebrations, and at the Auditorium “Verti” of the Conservatorio di Modena to open the 2022 Modena Festival of Music.
She has also given solo recitals at Sala Biagi in Bologna and at the Rocca di Dozza.
In 2024, she made her orchestral debut performing Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A minor at the Teatro Comunale Pavarotti-Freni in Modena, the city's most prestigious theatre, as part of the Festival della Filosofia, in collaboration with the orchestra of the Conservatorio.
Francesca is currently performing in Perth thanks to the generous support of the Italian Ministry of University and Research, which is funding the promotion of Italian arts and culture abroad. This recital is part of the Italian Week of Creativity — a collaborative initiative between the Conservatorio di Modena, the Italian Consulate, and Maestria Productions, celebrating Italian talent through a series of performances across the city.
