WollCon is thrilled to offer the opportunity of a day of masterclasses with renowned educator and Sydney Symphony Orchestra clarinettist Frank Celata. Masterclass places will be offered to intermediate and advanced students on the basis of availability, with preference given to students preparing for AMEB exams and HSC assessments. There will also be a masterclass for members of the WollCon Clarinet Ensemble.
Before booking a ‘Participant’ ticket please wait to receive confirmation of your place from the WollCon admin team, as these places are limited. Those who wish to observe or are accompanying a participant should book an ‘Observer’ ticket.
Students who wish to apply for a masterclass place should send their expression of interest with a brief description of their ability/level to the WollCon Admin Team enquiries@wollcon.com.au by Monday 10 March 2025.
Sessions will happen between 10am and 2pm and we will advise you once you have submitted your expression of interest.
Francesco Celata:
Francesco joined the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in 1993. He has appeared as a soloist on many occasions, including in a performance at the National Centre for Performing Arts in Beijing with David Robertson as conductor.
Frank has played often with the London Symphony Orchestra as guest Principal Clarinet performing on international tours and recordings. More recently he has appeared with the Philharmonia Orchestra of London and the Australian World Orchestra.
Frank is a founding member of the Sydney Soloists and a dedicated teacher, and since 1994 has taught clarinet at the Sydney Conservatorium. He has given masterclasses at the Shanghai Conservatorium, Trinity College in London and the Australian Academy of Music.’
