John & Bree Velluti, owners of foodie favourite, Frank’s Fruit Market in Haberfield and Sydney providores, Velluti's - The Fruit & Veg Co invite you to join them for “Sagra del Carciofo e Arancia Rossa” at Sagra Restaurant in Darlinghurst - Wednesday 28 August at 6.30pm.
'Sagra' is an Italian word for a celebration around particular ingredients – and in August we are celebrating the seasonality of Globe Artichokes and Blood Oranges. We are excited to host you for a communal dinner dedicated to these unique ingredients.
Chefs Ed Saxton and Michael Otto base their everchanging Menu on using seasonal, quality produce staying true to their restaurant’s name. They are creating for us a magnificent 4-course menu that will highlight the distinctive flavour of the Globe Artichoke (Carciofo) and the spectacular colour and refreshing tang of the Blood Orange (Arancia Rossa).

Roberta Muir Be Inspired: Food – Wine - Travel will host the evening and lead our conversation around these two delicious ingredients, discussing with John, Ed and Michael how and where globe artichokes and blood oranges are grown in Australia and their significance in Italian food culture and cooking. Roberta is a well-known food writer having co-written and published cookbooks with many of Sydney’s best chefs and ran Australia’s largest recreational cooking school, Sydney Seafood School at Sydney Fish Market for 23 years. Peter Zuzza, of Atelier de Vino is a well-known Sydney restaurateur having been in the hospitality industry for almost 40 years and is a passionate wine enthusiast. Peter will profile each of the matching wines that will accompany the four courses of our dinner and you will have an opportunity to buy these wines to take home with you after the event.
