FREE ADA Urban Sketching - Australian Art Deco Festival
Event description
Come in from the cold and enjoy a FREE demonstration and workshop with Art Deco Arts Urban Sketching.Â
Join in the fun with Dorothy and Ayla, who will lead you through the creation of your own sketch featuring the Henry Lawson Cottage in Leeton.
Sketching can be seen as a perfect pathway to art, used for relaxation or a nice way to enhance your already established art skills. A few tips to consider: Keep it simple. The purpose is to get out and about, with other like-minded sketchers, enjoy yourself and capture your vision of the subject. Materials should be simple too - a small size sketch book, graphite pencil and an eraser are all that is required. You may also like to try a fine felt tipped ten or marker to finish off. The choice is yours, nothing is right, wrong or off limits. Remember the sketch need not be perfect, it is only for your enjoyment.
Participants that sign up will also receive a more detailed 'how to' on ways to approach a sketch, to ensure everyone has the best tips and tricks to start their sketching experience.
Afterwards why not attend the Heritage Walk at 1pm to gain a greater insight into Leeton’s Art Deco Heritage. Go to the Art Deco Festival website for tickets.
Art Deco Arts are also holding an ADA Urban Sketching Event on Sunday July 14 at 9:30am to sketch the Pine Avenue buildings. You can employ your new-found sketching skills with some instruction to get you started. Tickets at our website. We would love it if you came along.
Date and time for the Free Demo is Saturday, July 13, 9:30 to 11:30am, at the Leeton Shire Library on the corner of Sycamore Street and Dooley Lane. See you there!
