Event description

The composer shares insights into the behind-the-scenes processes in creating such a work as “Krakatoa”, and explains the research and development involved, and the journey of translating events, drawings, historic record and scientific data into feelings and evocative music using his unique world-first approaches. A unique opportunity for Fremantle audiences and musicians alike to be moved, inspired and learn about how the Kakatoa concert was created.

Note: Persons under 15 yrs must be accompanied by an adult


About Rupert Guenther



Rupert Guenther is a Vienna-trained concert violinist & composer who specialises in performances of his own new works inspired by local environments, events in history, artworks, the sciences, philosophy, poetry, the natural environment and his own life stories. he uses soundscapes, electronics, improvisation, composition and cross-arts and cross-cultural collaborations, with an underlying theme of fostering spiritual, social and emotional wellbeing in the communities he visits. His solo concerts over 25 years include Sydney Opera House, Melbourne Recital Centre, The Guildhall Festival London, St Anna Church Vienna, Museum of Docklands London, Bombora House NYC, Adelaide Baroque Hall, Government House Ballroom Perth, and Denmark Arts Brave New Works Festival.
