Free community screening of Dreamworks "Home" for Refugee Week 2023

Mildura Rural City Council will mark 2023 Refugee Week with a special movie event at Wallis Cinema from 7pm on Friday 23 June. In addition to this FREE screening of 'Home', you will also hear from guest speakers discussing their personal experiences.
The movie selected for the event pays homage to the 2023 Refugee Week theme ‘Finding Freedom’. The theme aims to promote harmony and togetherness, while acting as a reminder that regardless of our differences, we all share a common humanity. The family-friendly animated film ‘Home’ follows ‘Oh’, a misfit from another planet, who lands on Earth and finds himself on the run from his own people. Oh forms an unlikely friendship with a girl named Tip who is on a quest of her own. Through a series of adventures, Oh comes to understand that being different and making mistakes is all part of being human.
