This workshop will help youth and community sector workers in Western Australia develop a strong understanding how to set up and maintain a best-practice Youth Advisory Group. In this workshop, attendees will learn:

What a Youth Advisory Group is and the different reasons that motivate young people to join
How to recruit and attract a diversity of young people to their group
How to explore the skills of the young people involved, as well as maximise and develop those skills
What makes a great Youth Advisory Group and pitfalls to avoid
Strategies for embedding decision making within the organisation
