Celebrate Nature, Pollinators & Community at the Iluka Foreshore!

Join us for a fun-filled Family Discovery Morning — a community celebration of the amazing plants, animals, and pollinators that make Iluka Foreshore so special! Enjoy hands-on activities, guided nature walks, creative workshops, and tasty native treats as we explore how birds, insects, wind, and even water help plants grow and thrive.

What’s On?

• 8:30am – 9:30am: Bird Walk with BirdLifeWA
  Spread your wings with the experts! Spot coastal birds and learn how they help pollinate local plants. Perfect for curious kids and birdwatchers alike.

• 10:30am – 11:30am: Bug Hunt with Spineless Wonders
  Join David Knowles for a close-up look at buzzing insect pollinators. You’ll explore the flowering Chenille honeymyrtle and meet the busy bugs that make it bloom!

• Sea Science with Angela Rossen
  Use iScopes and your phone to zoom in on tiny sea creatures and learn about seagrasses that rely on water for pollination.

• Build Your Own Insect Hotel with Catherine Baudains
  Get creative! Make a mini home for pollinators to take back to your garden. Limited kits available — first come, first served.

• Adopt A Beach
  See what curious treasures the tide brings in and learn how you can help care for our coast.

• Read & Relax Corner
  Parents, kick back on a picnic rug while little ones enjoy picture books, soft toys, and nature playtime.

• Native Food Tasting
  Sample delicious bites made from native plants and discover the pollinators behind every flavour!
