Social Family Event
Description
NAWIC Taranaki and TRFU Female Academy have secured Kendra Cocksedge as a guest speaker. A proud Taranaki local and Black Ferns legend, Kendra was repeatedly told as a child that she was too small to play rugby, and that she should not be playing with the boys.
Three Rugby World Cup titles and many accolades later and the rest is history. Her story is one of backing ourself in an environment that was not always built for you, which feels like a fitting chat to be having with our members.
The session will be approx 90 minutes.
The first half would be some fun activities and movement, before Kendra shares a bit of her journey.
NAWIC members who would like to share something of their own story are welcome to participate and we will finish with some shared kai.
Kids are welcome to attend with their mothers.
