Whatever happened to Green Valley? is a 1973 documentary by acclaimed Australian Filmmaker Peter Weir (Picnic at Hanging Rock, Dead Poets Society, Gallipoli, The Truman Show).
The documentary presents the perspectives of residents of the Liverpool City Council suburb who were given film cameras to document their daily lives on the housing commission estate. The film provided residents with an opportunity to respond to the suburb's negative media portrayal at the time.
In doing so, they answered the question, 'Whatever happened to Green Valley?'
Weir also acts as a public forum moderator in the film, attended by locals, the media and the Prime Minister, Gough Whitlam.

The screening is presented in association with the Liverpool Regional Museum's free exhibition, 'I read the news today, oh boy'. Fairfax Media Photographic Archive (1960–1990).
