Free Intro Breathwork Session in Wollongbar
Description
Come home to yourself. One breath at a time.
A free, one-off session for the Happy Mountain community
When: Wednesday 29 April 2026
Doors open 6:15pm
Session starts at 6:30pm
Where: Happy Mountain, Wollongbar (Warehouse 3, 58-62 Simpson Ave, Wollongbar NSW 2477 - located behind the shops on the bottom side of the complex.)
Most of us never learned to breathe.
We breathe, of course. Thousands of times a day. But breathing with intention is different. Using the breath to shift your state, quiet your mind, and access what's already true inside you.
Most people have never experienced this innate power we all possess.
This session is for you to explore the power of your breath.
It's free because I want you to experience it on your own terms. To notice, to experiment, to play... to see what comes up for you when you give yourself permission to put the heaviness of life down just for a moment.
Note: there's no judgment here - we all have different needs and timing. This is simply about finding what works best for you at this moment in your life.
WHAT HAPPENS IN THE SESSION
We use a range of breathing techniques, from gentle down-regulation (the kind that slows your nervous system and quiets the noise) to more activating patterns (the kind that build focus and presence). You work at your own pace. You're in control throughout.
The session runs approximately 75 to 90 minutes and includes a short introduction to breathwork, what it is, what it isn't, and what you can expect your body to do. Then the breathwork itself, guided, with music, at your own pace. Then time for integration. We don't rush you off the mat. What arises in a session deserves space to settle.
Most people leave calmer than they arrived. Clearer. Sometimes surprised by what a single session can do.
WHAT PEOPLE NOTICE

"I've been attending Max's breathwork class for a while now, and it's made a huge difference in how I manage stress and stay calm in tough situations. Max creates such a supportive and calming space." — Rachel, Sales

"Breathwork is far more grounding, supportive, and transformative than you expect, and the benefits ripple into every part of your life." — Josh, Osteopath
THIS SESSION IS FOR YOU IF...
You feel like your body is always braced for something, even when things are fine.
You're a parent, a carer, a professional, or someone who gives a lot, and you've noticed there's less left over for yourself than there used to be.
You've tried meditation, but your mind doesn't cooperate. Breathwork works differently. We change the body first, and the mind tends to follow.
You want practical tools, not concepts. Something you can actually use when life gets heavy.
You're curious. That's enough.
THIS MIGHT NOT BE THE RIGHT TIME IF...
You're hoping one session fixes everything. It won't, but it might show you what's possible.
You're uncomfortable exploring inner sensations. Breathwork can surface emotions or physical feelings that have been sitting beneath the surface. That's usually the point, but it requires a willingness to be with what comes up.
You're pregnant, or have cardiovascular issues, epilepsy, glaucoma, or severe psychiatric conditions. Please check with your healthcare provider first and let me know before we begin. (You can email me if you have any concerns)
WHAT TO BRING
Your yoga mat. A soft bolster or pillow if you have one, a blanket works too. Comfortable clothing you can breathe in. Water.
Nothing else is required. No experience. No particular fitness level. Come as you are.
WHO AM I
I'm Max. I've spent over a decade in the coaching and transformational space, working with more than 1,000 people through one-on-one coaching, group work, and extended retreat settings. I'm also an initiated vision quest guide in the Stalking Wolf lineage.
Breathwork has been part of my own personal practice for years. I'm a certified breathwork practitioner, and bringing it into a regular community setting is something I'm doing now because I've seen what it does for myself and for the people I work with.
The people who find their way into my work are police detectives, osteopaths, builders, parents, executives, and personal trainers, just to name a few. What they share isn't their profession, job title or roles in life.
What they all have in common is that something in them is ready to stop running on autopilot.
What I care about most isn't technique. It's that you leave knowing something true about yourself. From there, you can go back into your life feeling more yourself than you may have in some time. A little lighter, a little bit more you.
From there, your world begins to open up in ways you couldn't possibly imagine.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Is this like meditation? Similar destination, different doorway. Instead of trying to think your way to stillness, we use the body first. Most people who can't meditate find breathwork much easier to access.
Will I have to hyperventilate or do anything intense? No. We use a range of patterns from gentle to more activating. You work at your own pace, always in control. Intensity is never the goal. Coming home to yourself is.
What will I actually feel? The most common experiences: a calmer body, a quieter mind, warmth or tingling in the hands, emotional release, and a grounded sense of clarity. The goal isn't chasing big states. It's coming home to yourself.
What if I feel anxious or emotional during the session? Totally normal. When the nervous system shifts, what's been held can release. You're guided the whole way and always in control. We hold space for integration at the end. You won't leave spun out.
What if I can't switch my mind off? Good. That's why we start with the body. Let the breath change your state. The mind usually follows.
How long until I notice benefits? Many people feel a shift in the first session, calmer, clearer, better sleep that night. Nervous systems change with consistency, so the more you practise, the deeper it goes. But one session is enough to know if this is something for you.
I've tried coaching or therapy and want something that goes deeper. Does this help? Yes. Breathwork is direct and embodied. It bypasses overthinking and lets you access what's actually true for you. Not more advice. Not more frameworks. A different kind of knowing.
I'm nervous to start. You're not alone. You set your own pace. You're always in control. You can slow down or stop at any time. One session is enough to know if it's for you. There's no pressure beyond that.
SPOTS ARE LIMITED TO 30
This isn't a large-group event. It's small enough that you'll feel held, not lost.
