Free Legal Information Sessions

Even if you think you don’t need legal information right now, these sessions can help you be prepared — it’s often easier (and cheaper) to know your rights before a problem happens.

These free legal information sessions are delivered by Encompass Legal and Community Services, in collaboration with Rainbow Migrants, and supported by Pride Foundation Australia and Edith Cowan University.

Sessions are available online or in person at Pride WA. If you attend in person, there is also an opportunity to meet others and socialise informally before or after the session.

The sessions provide practical, plain-language information about everyday legal issues. They are designed to help people understand their rights, what options are available, and where to get help if something goes wrong.

You are welcome to attend one session or come to several. There is no need to attend the full series.

WHO IS THIS FOR?
• LGBTIQA+ migrants, refugees, and people seeking asylum or protection
• Allies supporting people from these communities

No legal knowledge or experience is needed. The sessions are suitable whether you are newly arrived in Australia or have been here for some time.
