Free Nitrate Water Testing - Killinchy

Selwyn District Council, with support from Environment Canterbury (ECan), is hosting three free nitrate water testing events for anyone on a private water supply. 

Testing your water 

To test your water, please bring 100ml of water in a clean sealed container. This could be a glass jar with a lid, drinking water bottle, or a plastic soft drink bottle that’s been rinsed out.  

The test takes about five minutes, and you will receive your results on the same day. 

Please note that testing is for private water supplies only.

Booking your test 

Please book a time slot to test your water.  

Water filter companies and other providers will be on-site to discuss options for your water supply. You’ll also be able to talk to representatives from the Council and the organisations above.
