Free Public Astronomy Program- October 26th
Event description
The United Astronomy Clubs of New Jersey (UACNJ) will host a free public astronomy program at our observatory in Jenny Jump State Forest in New Jersey. A presentation on astronomy will begin promptly at 8:00 pm. (Please arrive early). After the talk we will show you live images of the sky from our telescopes as it gets dark. The sky gazing will end at 10:30 pm.
The entire program will be outdoors. Please bring your own chair or blanket to sit on. If you feel sick, please stay home.
A volunteer will greet you at the entrance road to the observatory to help direct you for parking. Please arrive before 8:00 pm. Parking is available on-site and is limited.
We will have digital cameras attached to some of our telescopes to provide a live image of a planet, star, galaxy or nebula, which will be projected on a screen for all to see. A volunteer will guide you through a tour of the objects we'll be looking at.
Our programs are weather-dependent and can be cancelled. We will notify you through Humanitix if there is a cancellation.
