We will talk about:

How to support and protect yourself when attending court and speaking to police.
What to expect when attending court, including protecting your emotional wellbeing.
Know what to expect of the legal system and who to go to for support
Ways to stay resilient.
Build awareness of what services can do for you when it is not safe to speak to police.

With guest speakers from:

Police Accountability – Inner Melbourne Community Legal Centre
Flat Out – how workers can avoid colluding with the system and how does that look when receiving support
Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service (VALS) – support they provide and how to self-advocate
Law and Advocacy Centre for Women – ways they provide support and navigating the legal system yourself
Court Network – preparing for court and getting support for court
