Event description

Join award-winning poet Scott-Patrick Mitchell for a free poetry workshop catered specificially to the LGBTQI+ community which explores, celebrates and honours our obsession with the beach and magnificent Australian coastline. You’ll be swept away, marvel at beachcombing, dive deep into Perth Canyon and write in response to climate change and how it will shape the future. Open to LGBTQI+ poets of all ages and abilities. Limited to 12 spots only. This workshop is supported by DLGSCI and Writing WA.

About the Presenter

Scott-Patrick Mitchell was Highly Commended in the 2024 Blake Poetry Prize. Their debut poetry collection Clean (Upswell Publishing, 2022) was shortlisted for The Prime Minister’s Literary Awards, The WA Premier’s Book Awards and The Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards.
