Freedom is Beautiful Film Screening
Event description
A deeply moving documentary which explores the lives of two Kurdish asylum seekers who fled oppression in Iran only to spend years incarcerated in brutal offshore detention at the hands of successive Australian Governments.  Moz and Farhad are exceptional, charismatic and articulate men who from their early years on Manus Island rose to become pivotal voices in the collective struggle against a regime that unjustly imprisoned thousands of innocent and vulnerable people. Beautifully told in their own words, this uplifting film explores how they found tranquility through art and music that helped them survive and fight back in their fight for freedom for everyone.
