FREEDOM IS BEAUTIFUL Lennox Head Screening
Event description
Artist & filmmaker Angus McDonald’s debut feature documentary, FREEDOM IS BEAUTIFUL, will screen in Lennox Head following its premiere at the 70th Sydney Film Festival in early June.
FREEDOM IS BEAUTIFUL tells the story of two remarkable Kurdish Iranian asylum seekers, Farhad Bandesh and Mostafa (Moz) Azimitibar, who fled persecution and were imprisoned for almost 8 years under the Federal Government’s inhumane refugee policy. Using their art and music as a means of peaceful struggle, they tirelessly resisted against the system on behalf of all those held.
Doors open at 6. The screening of the film will be followed by a Q&A with Farhad, Moz, Director Angus McDonald and human rights activist Craig Foster in conversation.
We are looking forward to sharing the film with our local community!
