Fremantle Underwater Film Festival: 23 - 24 November 2024
Event description
ABOUT THE EVENT
You are invited to attend a memorable evening, showcasing the biodiversity and wonder of our oceans through a hand-picked selection of short, underwater films.
The official screenings for the Fremantle Underwater Film Festival (FUFF) are held in Walyalup-Fremantle, Western Australia. FUFF is screened annually in coastal towns and cities around regional Western Australia, interstate and across the seas. The festival screens just under two hours of short films in two acts, with an interval in between acts.
Founded in 2015, we are the only festival of its kind - donating 100% of the funds we raise through ticket sales for the Fremantle Underwater Film Festival (23-24 Nov) to marine biodiversity conservation projects. Your ticket to the film festival helps support critically endangered ocean life. So far we've raised over $50,000 through ticket sales for the protection of the critically endangered Maui Dolphin - with only 45 adults sadly remaining of this species.
Catering is included in the ticket price for early bird festival goers only and is not available for those who book after 5pm on the 14 November. For those that book a show-only ticket after 5pm on the 14 November, there are many great food options in walking distance from the venue. We recommend you park up early, walk across to South Terrace for dinner and return for a drink at the bar around 6pm to mingle with the crowd and find your seats before the show starts.
This year we will be joined by the 'Mermantle Men', a community men's singing group recently formed to share their songs of the sea with you prior to the films and at interval. Please wear your red diver's beanie and best nautical stripes (if you have them) on the night in solidarity with our band of singing brothers, our maritime heritage, community of ocean-lovers and those we remember who lost their lives at sea.
