In 1955, Jesus followers grew in their discipleship with Jesus as they took part in a nonviolent campaign to boycott segregated buses in Montgomery. This was not through simple marching. They employed a discipleship strategy of nonviolence that kept them curious to opposing views, committed to the peace of Christ in their bodies and their souls, and ready to suffer if it came to it.

This is so different than our modern moment of armchair activism through social media likes and dislikes, angry yelling and nasty signs, and, of course, simply doing nothing. Jesus offered a better way in the 50s and 60s. What can we learn from it today?

In this six week cohort, Josh Williams, Associate National Director of Evangelism and Justice, will share the historic six steps to build a practical nonviolence campaign in your church, for your city and beyond. You will be equipped to tackle any issue of injustice through nonviolence strategies.

Feel free to come as an individual, but be encouraged to bring a small team from your church in order to discuss the way of nonviolence, discern where you might use it locally, and get started!

This cohort meets on Fridays at noon for six weeks, beginning Friday, October 16, through November 20.

When securing your tickets, please disregard the ticket maximum numbers determined by Humanitix.
