Join Lloyd O'Hanlon of Footscray Hotel Choir infamy for a not-so-typical Friday session.

Lloyd will open the space to share his approach to choir singing, providing a fun and accessible way for complete beginners to give group singing a go. Lloyd spent several years living in Europe, where he learned dozens of folk songs, all by ear. His method of teaching is highly inclusive; there are no notes, keys or time signatures. It’s simply about having a sing, having some fun and connecting with others in the community.

Instead of the beers, there will be a break in the middle and a chance to have a cup of tea, rest your voice, and get to know your fellow singers.

Over the four weeks, you’ll learn a range of songs, from a variety of traditions, from love songs to tragedies, and even songs about bees!

Men are strongly encouraged to join and bring a mate along. We know there are plenty of great male voices hiding out in the community, and no singing experience is needed. Lloyd wants to create a safe space for these. That said, absolutely all genders are welcome.

This is a 4-week program, when you register you are RSVPing for all 4 weeks.

Week 4 Friday 27 Nov 6 - 8pm

This event is 100% indoors.

If you are no longer able to attend your Spring into Summer Series program:
Please cancel your registration through Humanitix. If you fail to cancel your registration or if you don’t inform Council you are unable to attend the first session, your place in the program will be given to someone on the waitlist after the first session.

To cancel your ticket:

Select Update Order
Click on the Refunds tab
Tick the box next to the participant's name that you would like to cancel
Select Refund
