Creating opportunities to learn Noongar language and culture for each of the six Noongar seasons, supported by music, song, dance, crafts and food.

Men’s business will include yongka ngardanginy (roo hunting), preparing the meat for cooking and skins for booka (cloak) making.

Women’s business will focus on cooking yongka bidji (kangaroo stew) and damper, discovering and observing djet yalkaranginy (the flowers blooming) during Makuru, yarning and sharing.

We hope you’ll join us to refresh your spirit and heal country with our presence and activities.

Timing: This is a time flexible camp. You may arrive any time from Thursday mid afternoon and depart any time before Sunday early afternoon to suit your families needs.

Who can attend: This camp is open to adults and children with an interest in contributing and learning more about Noongar language and culture.

Catering: Lunch and Dinner provided please bring your own Breakfast – Community cooking help is appreciated.

Costs: Please allow a contribution of $110 ($70 concession) for two nights and $20 for Children over 6. Contact Sally if you would appreciate financial support to attend.

Bookings and Payment: Booking and payments can be made via Humantix. If you cannot use this system please get in touch.

What to bring: Please bring camping gear, clothing for cool, wet and cold conditions, your musical instruments, and craft and art materials.

Covid precautions: We ask that you undertake a RAT test prior to attending. Please stay home if you test positive or have any symptoms – let’s work together to keep elders and the Nowanup community safe.
