Friends of Nowanup Noongar language and culture Makuru camp
Event description
Creating opportunities to learn Noongar language and culture for each of the six Noongar seasons, supported by music, song, dance, crafts and food.
We are looking forward to Auntie Iris and her niece Karessa being back with us for this camp.
Timing: This is a time flexible camp. You may arrive any time from Thursday mid afternoon and depart any time before Sunday early afternoon to suit your families needs.
Who can attend: This camp is open to adults and children with an interest in contributing and learning more about Noongar language and culture.
Catering: Provided – Community cooking help is appreciated.
Costs: Please allow a contribution of $150 ($110 concession) per adult for three nights or $110 ($70 concession) for two nights. Children are free. Contact Rod if you would appreciate financial support to attend.
Bookings and Payment: Booking and payments can be made via Humantix. If you cannot use this system please contact Rod Safstrom.
What to bring: Please bring camping gear, clothing for cool, wet and cold conditions, your musical instruments, and craft and art materials.

Our language camps are made possible through volunteer contributions by the Friends of Nowanup, payments by participants and a grant by the Wyemando Harper Sisters Aboriginal Bequest.
All Nowanup events are are drug and alcohol free and subject to Covid 19 restrictions.
