Friends of Withywood Park - Bird, Bat, Owl, Hedgehog Box Building

Join Friends of Withywood Park for a practical session building bat, bird, owl, and hedgehog boxes to support wildlife in the parks of Withywood and Hartcliffe. This 2-hour workshop begins with a 15-minute introduction and health and safety briefing, followed by hands-on box building where you’ll learn the basics of creating habitats for local species.

There may also be opportunities to take part in tasks such as litter picking. This session is ideal for anyone interested in practical conservation skills. Please note that under 16s must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or adult throughout.

Accessibility information

• The approach includes grass and uneven areas, so it may be challenging for wheelchair users or anyone who needs a firm, level surface.

• Long‑distance walking may also be difficult for some visitors.

• Some of the route involves walking across grass and slightly uneven ground, as there is no hard‑surface path all the way to the Pod.

Travel information

Withywood Park Pod is in the North Section of Withywood Park, close to the Play Park. It’s a short walk from the surrounding entrances.

• Three Wells Road (slightly further)

Child‑Friendly Access

• The area is suitable for children, but all under‑16s must be accompanied for the entire session.

• They will need close supervision from a parent or carer at all times.
