Join us for a special afternoon of fabrics, creativity and clothing

Ikuntji Artists invite you to the Awards and Opening of the Frock On! 2022 exhibition.

To be opened by members of Ikuntji Artists and Dr Chrischona Schmidt.

Frock On! is a project that invited creatives to make wearable (art) items from Ikuntji Artists' beautiful hand screen-printed fabrics. The Exhibition and Awards night is the culmination of months of preparations and work by 20+ people from all over Australia (full list below).

More than 30 amazing garments will be on exhibition, a film will be screened and 8 prizes will be awarded. 

PS: We'd love you to dress up in First Nations hand printed fabrics! 

In the last 5 years Ikuntji Artists have become internationally renowned for their artists' beautiful and meaningful fabric designs. Clothes from the previous event: Frock On! 2021, have been traveling Australia and the world.

About Frock On! 2022

This is a celebratory event that brings together Aboriginal fabric design and people who like to sew with the aim to ….

  • Showcase Ikuntji Artists hand-printed fabric designs and bring attention to their fabulousness and versatility
  • Showcase participants' skills as a designer/sewers
  • Promote Australian Indigenous designed fabrics and the making and wearing of handmade clothing and slow fashion

Who is behind Frock On! 2002 

Frock On! is an Ikuntji Artists project facilitated by Felicity Wright of Flying Fox Fabrics and exhibited at Songlines.

Ticket proceeds will go to Ikuntji Artists Aboriginal Corporation - a registered Charity with PBI/DGR status.
