Frog ID Walk - Springbrook National Park

Join Springbrook Weedbusters for a guided nocturnal frog survey in Springbrook National Park, in the Gold Coast hinterland, and help put local frogs on the map for FrogID Week! The team leaders will guide you through the park, sharing their knowledge and experience in locating and identifying our unique native frogs. An ideal event for budding citizen scientists and wildlife enthusiasts alike, and an unmissable opportunity to help contribute to our knowledge of the wonderful diversity of species in our own backyards!

On the walk you’ll:

• Listen for frog calls and explore frog habitat in Springbrook National Park

• Learn how to use the free FrogID app

• Record frog calls and contribute observations as a citizen scientist

• Find out how frog records help researchers understand local biodiversity and ecosystem health

• Keep an eye out for other nocturnal wildlife out and about after dark

No experience needed, just bring your phone, suitable walking shoes, water, and a sense of adventure!

Spaces are strictly limited to 15 participants, so register early to secure your spot.

This event is suitable for ages 16+, and children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the event to check in.

This event promotes citizen science using iNaturalist and FrogID. To get the most out of the experience, please have a current version of one or both of these apps installed with an account beforehand.
