Frog talk and guided walk with Dr Jodi Rowley
Description
Celebrate FrogID Week with renowned herpetologist and self-confessed frog nerd, Dr Jodi Rowley. Discover the fascinating world of frogs, why they are important indicators of environmental health, and how you can contribute to one of Australia’s largest citizen science projects using the free FrogID app.
Did you know one of our local frogs grows to less than 30 mm in length, while another spends up to 95% of its life buried underground? Join Dr Jodi as she uncovers the surprising lives of these remarkable amphibians and the vital role they play in healthy ecosystems.
Following the presentations and Q &A, participants will break into small guided groups and head into nearby Warriewood Wetlands to listen for frog calls and search for local species in their natural habitat. Whether you're a seasoned frog enthusiast or simply curious about the wildlife in your backyard, this is a unique opportunity to experience the wonders of frogs after dark.
