About Me

My name is Anh Thu Anna Nguyen, and this September, I will be moving to London to study a Master's in Performance at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.

I've been singing since I was 15—from our national youth choir to the national opera chorus. Now, I've been accepted into one of the world's leading music schools, where I'll train as a soprano.

The opportunity to study at Guildhall is something I've worked towards for nearly a decade. It's a well-trodden path for young New Zealand singers to receive their masters and higher training internationally, then seek work in the industry around the United Kingdom and Europe.

But this move is deeply personal too—in many ways, I am reliving my parents' immigrant cycle by moving to another country with better resources in order to improve my chances for a brighter future.

As an international student, the cost of tuition and living in London is significant. My first year of Guildhall is £21,610 (approximately $49,000 NZD)** .

I am fundraising to cover my international tuition fees and rent. Every ticket sold, every donation made, brings me closer to Guildhall. This will be one of my final sings in Aotearoa before I head to London, and I am privileged to give back to the community that has given me so much as a young singer.

Thank you for your support!
