Event description

We invite you to listen, learn, and be motivated by Assadullah’s powerful message of strength and community.  Hear firsthand about his incredible journey from Afghanistan to Australia, his experiences overcoming adversity, and his dedication to giving back to the community. Don't miss the opportunity to be inspired by his story and gain a deeper understanding of the refugee experience.

Assadullah is one of the many Refugee Ambassadors from the Refugee Council of Australia. Through their bravery and humanity, they challenge harmful stereotypes and dismantle the negative narratives about refugees and people seeking asylum.

It’s not easy to share a story that starts with pain. Yet, our Ambassadors bravely transform years or even decades of war, detention, and trauma into powerful tales of hope, resilience, and determination. These are Australian stories, and they deserve to be heard

We encourage you to watch this 5-minute video before hearing your Refugee Ambassador’s story. It explains key legal terms related to refugees, who they are, where they come from, and how we can support them.
