Event description

Dive into the world of automata and robotics.

Learn to solve challenges,  create and code

The participant will learn about the basic mechanics of the automata, and we will add some electronics to understand the difference - they can take their creation home ( without the electronics)

We will use the principle of automata and build a character that can move, and we will step into the world of robotics.

We will use block-based coding software ( scratch/ mblock/ makecode) to manipulate the sensor on the robot. We’ll learn to use a sensor or two, to play with mechatronics, to make the robot move some parts, and to tackle the challenges of moving between the two worlds of mechanical movement and electronics.

Please note that knowledge of Scratch is recommended.

This is a project-based workshop that will help young people develop an understanding of mechatronics, robotics and computational thinking skills.

We will investigate with Arduino-based robots, Scratch-based software coding, robotic concepts, and basic circuitry.

Thursday 22 nd April (1.30 pm - 4.30 pm) and Friday 23rd April (9 - 12 pm)

Don't forget morning tea and a drink bottle!

This workshop integrates science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. This workshop is for keen kids aged 8 - 11 years.
